Proud to Contribute to a Greener, Resilient East Africa.

AMSHA Institute of Rural Entrepreneurship has proudly contributed to the development of a new Policy Brief on Scaling Agroforestry for Climate Resilience and Food Security in Drylands of Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

As climate challenges continue to threaten food systems and rural livelihoods—especially in East Africa’s drylands—agroforestry offers a powerful solution. This policy brief, developed by the East Africa Drylands Agroforestry Expert Group (with support from SIANI and ViAgroforestry), outlines clear, evidence-based recommendations to mainstream agroforestry into national and regional development agendas.

Agroforestry can boost crop yields by up to 58%, restore soil fertility, reduce conflict, and empower smallholder farmers—especially women and youth.

At AMSHA, we are committed to amplifying farmer voices, promoting nature-based solutions, and working towards sustainable, inclusive development across Tanzania and beyond.
